Well, today I've officially started hosting my first ever sleepover. Yippee! My friend, Max, a pug-a-poo, is here staying with me while his parents, Tre and Kelly, are on a much needed final fling before summer is over.
We're having a blast. When he first got over, we ran around and around - jumping on each other, batting at each other, playing with toys together and the like. It was a blast! After his parents left, we ran around some more and then settled down for a nap. I don't think Max is too sure about eating here, but he got the hang of it when daddy put his food on his bed (which he brought with him). We went potty outside, though I think we're on slightly different schedules so I'm hoping Max will do his number two outside later...I'm not sure I'm willing to share enough of my house to have him poop inside. But hey, what are friends for?
Max knows more tricks than I do so I'm hoping to learn a few of his moves before he leaves. I hear the ladies love tricks. Mommy and daddy have been giving out more jerky treats than usual so I'm pretty stoked about that. Here's a photo of Max and I sitting for said treats.
Not sure what I'm looking at...maybe the huge bowl of treats on the table in comparison to the small treat in mom's hand.
More later.

Daddy Started School
Daddy started school on Wednesday. I missed him terribly all evening long, especially when mommy left to go to home fellowship. Luckily, daddy will have class on Mondays after next week and mommy won't have the car. Pray that no one will offer to drive her anywhere because I want her all to myself.
Back to daddy. He started school, and I'm really excited. He's so very smart and has already started on his homework. Though I'm fairly certain this means less cuddle time, I'm okay with the whole thing. I hear it means there may be more bones in my future. Woohoo!

The Portland Zoo (with the In-Laws)
You read right. I braved an entire morning on my day off a couple of weeks ago with my in-laws. I know, I'm crazy. Actually, if you know my in-laws they're a fantastic bunch of people. And you can't beat witnessing a one-year-old's first trip to the zoo.
Let the fun begin.
She's ridiculously adorable.
Hey, you! Unlabeled friend of the giraffes...
ga-zelli or whatever you are.
I'm over here.
We're both so underappreciated.
Hmm...I think we're all a little tired.
Yep, more than just a little.
But she's so dog-gone cute.
Checkin' out the aminals via a wittle house for wittle kids.
Do this mask make me look fat?
Not fat, just ridiculous. Get this thing off of me.
I'll take this one.
Yes, I won! An animal of my very own.
Thanks, Nana for a great trip to the zoo!!
That's right, two movie stars hit the Portland Zoo that day.
And Auntie Em got to tag along.
Make that three movie stars.
(I'm trying for good Chrismas presents this year. Can you tell?)

July 24th? You've Got to be Kidding
Well folks, apparently it has been three weeks and one day since mommy blogged last. You don't want to know how long it's been since I blogged last...oh wait, it was the same day. Teehee.
We're having record-breaking heat here in Portland, and I'm none too pleased. However, due to the extreme temperatures, last night I didn't have to sleep in my crate. So life's not all that bad. Daddy put my "baby bed" (I have one small bed, a bit too small for me, and one gargantuan bed that could easily fit three to four of me...thus, the small bed has been affectionately named my "baby bed" and the large one my "big bed") at the foot of his and mommy's bed, I found my new bone and conked out hard. I didn't awake until 4:00am, when I proceeded to go to the front door and bark at whomever (or whatever) was passing by. It was dark and I was half asleep so I'm not really sure what I was barking at. But a minute later I came back to bed. I'm a good dog.
Mom and dad are headed on a bike ride at 7:00am tomorrow. Pray that they return without injury or dehydration.
