Speaking of delays, as I know you are all really wishing I would just get on with it, our little baby was being shy yesterday during the ultrasound. He/she held his/her little feet up by his/her bum and was obscuring the view a bit. So we waited and waited while the tech moved the wand around. The tech said she was wanting make sure she wasn't "missing any parts" so I figured she must have thought she was seeing a girl since a boy would mean added parts.
The votes were nearly evenly slip in the poll with 37 people voting boy and 39 people voting girl. And when the tech zoomed in on baby number two's gender parts, I knew immediately what I was seeing - three dots. This may mean nothing to you if you haven't read up on or recently had an ultrasound so for everyone who hasn't already gathered...
It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're elated to say the least! We would have been either way, but having another little girl is just so exciting! Kit announced that he now gets a double barrel shotgun to scare the boys away. The humorous part is that I've always said I would love to have all boys. And now I have two girls! But I'm so very happy to have my girls!! And to know that this little one is a girl!
Now to just officially decide on her name. We have two main names - one's been in the running as a second girl's since before Ellie was born and the other has come up since the fall. So I think I'll just be calling her by either name and see which one seems to stick. Kit has a favorite and it happens to involve two family names so it'll probably be the name, but I'm not quite ready to make it official yet!
And here's our little beauty for you...
Her little foot before it was up by her bum.
The best shot we got of her profile.
Another shot of her profile. The rounded blob above her face and her belly is actually the placenta. She had her face right up against it, which is why we didn't get a great profile shot.
She's sitting breach right now and the placenta is in the front of my uterus, which means it's acting as a sort of padding between our little girl and the outside world. Although I'm not sure where my placenta was with Ellie, this might explain why it's taken me longer to feel her move as much as I felt Ellie. I've felt baby moving off and on since a little over 7 weeks, but in the last week, I've really started to feel her more frequently. She's most active at night, or at least that's when I feel her most. And she kicks my bladder whenever it gets full. Oh the joys!

Congratulations on another girl! I have 3 myself, and they are so much fun! I laughed at the comment your husband made about the shotgun. My husband says he is going to put cactus and three big dogs under our girls windows to keep boys away!
YAY!!!! I'm so thrilled that you're having another girl! I'm so thankful everything looks healthy. =)
Congrats on another girl!
