Well, somehow it seems that I haven't found much time to blog lately. Mom has been feeling ill much of the time (though the nausea seems to have mostly passed in the last few days) so I've been being the loyal pug that I am and keeping her company. This morning she slept in until 8:00 due to being extremely exhausted despite lots of sleep. I, again being the loyal pug that I am, got in bed with her for the last hour and a half and then proceeded to keep the bed warm (in case she wanted to come back to bed) until 9:00.
Other than sleeping a lot, I haven't been up to much. Just chilling and eating my most recent bone, which mom gave me on Saturday but keeps taking away whenever they aren't home. I've decided that it might be slightly immature to hork down the last knotted section in each bone (yes, I actually swallowed large portions of bone whole quite a few times) and actually untied that knot as well this time. So I'm working on that right now. Pretty good stuff.
I'm really not too sure how I feel about this whole baby thing. I mean, mom's looking a little on the chubby side and for some reason they keep talking about this baby. I really wish they'd talk about me more. I mean, sheesh, I've been in the family for much longer than this baby character. And I believe I stated when Joel was here visiting that I was okay with not having a baby around for a while. So whose idea was it to bring this baby character into the mix?
Have I mentioned that I'm clearly being neglected? When she's feeling really sick, mom even sometimes rubs her own belly instead of mine! What is this world coming to?

Adieu, My Friend
Well, Max is gone now. We had a pretty fun time. But I must say I am glad to have mommy and daddy all to myself again. Max kept trying to take my spot on their laps. So I would casually slide up in between him and mommy/daddy, sneak into prime lap position and then stick my face in his face, giving him "the look." It proved to be effective. Though mommy and daddy would always tell me, "No," and make sure to give Max a good spot as well. Sheesh! Don't they know who I am? I'm the pug of the house!
Oh well, it's over now. And Max was a lot of fun. We went on a walk, wrestled, ate, slept and pretty much had a good time. I seem to have over-exerted myself though so I'm limping a bit on one of my back legs. Mom's taking me to the vet next week to get it checked out. At least my vet is cool, and mommy gives me lots of treats when I'm there. Bonus!

Camping - Part 2
I wanted to document my first camping trip and decided the following three videos most clearly captured the fun I had. (Note: Our camera has not magically turned in to one that captures sound. These are silent films.) Enjoy!

Camping - Part 1
We did it! We went on our first ever Wagner family camp out...which incidentally wasn't just a Wagner family camp out but a Kurtz (mama's family) family camp out. Because mama's family is so big, she kept calling it an extended family camping trip. But really it was just Grandpa, Grandma, and all but one set of the aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews (with a few friends thrown in for some extra excitement). Unfortunately, mom's rather obsessed with me so most of the pictures are of me...teehee!
Fun in the tent on the first night. Daddy went fishing with some of the other guys so mom and I chilled in the tent for a bit so I could have some off-leash time.
Don't I look tough? This picture reminds me of a funny story. While mommy and daddy were setting up the tent and packing, everything was going relatively well. We have a great tent, courtesy of one of Kit's uncles and his wife, awesome cooler, tons of food, my crate and toys, etc. One thing mommy and daddy forgot were their sleeping bags. That's right, no sleeping bags! And only thing air mats (which actually worked perfectly) to boot. Fantastic! So mom and grandma headed in to "town" (Mossyrock, WA - population 509). It was about 6:00, and they stopped at the little hardware store: closed. They asked a lady in the "parking lot
(gravel strip along the side of the road) whether she knew where they could find sleeping bags. "No, you're not going to find those anywhere. You're supposed to bring them with you," she replied rather tersely. Some people's kids.
Anyway...not to be deterred, mom and grandma headed to the grocery store because they needed some other items as well. Low and behold, in the front of the grocery store they had two (count 'em, two) adult sleeping bags: one black, one maroon. So not only were they in our family colors (aka red and black) but they were only $13.99 each. Woohoo! Apparently they just started carrying them last summer and run out most weekends...good, we're not the only forgetful ones!
Our tent has a little flap in it that one on my aunt's tents also had. Apparently it's a doggy door, or maybe it's for ventilation. Either way, I liked to peek out of it at the group campsite across the way.
One of my aunts gave me a yummy bone on Saturday, which I proceeded to devour. I also found out that her dogs get these bones regularly and protested. Now I get my own small bones daily.

Vee-cation!!!
You heard right, folks. We went on our first family vee-cation last week! It was fantastic! I decided the best way to tell you about the trip was to create a photo journal. So here you have it...
We arrived in Sunriver to snowfall. When we awoke on the morn of daddy's birthday, this was the scene. Oh, and mommy and daddy made me walk in this cold white stuff. They're crazy!

I learned the beauty of vee-cationing is that you get to just lie around...much like my normal daily routine, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Daddy enjoyed the reclining chairs for reading. I enjoyed his lap for napping.

There's my mommy. Isn't she purdy?

I had thought that I would narrowly escape bathing while on this so-called vee-cation. But apparently I was stinky from all that walking around, shopping, driving and sleeping. Bah!

During the first few days of our trip, I enjoyed the heavenly bliss that is "table scraps" -- a pleasure I am not often afforded at home. Unfortunately, this little piece of heaven upset my digestive tract. After vomiting three times in four days and not going poo for two days, my daddy and mommy decided it was best to take me to the area vet for a little check to ensure I didn't have a blockage. The good news is, I didn't. The bad news is, that nice vet lady stuck her finger up my bum and took out one of the golden nuggets of poo I was saving for later. Sheesh lady! Didn't anyone tell her how rude that is? She also gave me subcutaneous fluids, causing me to look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame for the evening. On the plus side, these next photos show of my fantastic harness daddy bought me at Downtown Doggie in Bend. It was a great little shop, and daddy even bought me a Spiderman shirt! I'll showcase that in a later post.
WARNING! The following photos contain graphic enlargement of the author's back. These photos are not for the faint of heart or overly sensitive.

Can we go home now? This isn't nearly as good as my bed at home that Nana bought me.
Hype, hype!!! We're home!! Why do I have to keep posing for these cheesey photos! I need to go to the gym build more muscle so I can evade daddy's strong biceps!

Look, ma! I taught daddy a new trick!

Ah, home sweet home!
