Here are the photos from today. I'm home now (we got here around 4:00) and too exhausted to go back to see Ellie tonight. It breaks my heart. I know they say I need to rest and heal for her sake, but I just want to be with her. Pray for us as we miss our daughter terribly.
I got to help wash her little mouth off during her afternoon facial. She gets dried on saliva and such on her mouth.
Her gorgeous post-facial pose.
My first chance to kiss her.
Daddy's first chance to kiss her. His facial hair is a little scruffy so he think she might have been concerned that a walrus was coming at her. But I think she looks pretty darn pleased to be getting a kiss from her daddy.
Getting hooked back up to the CPAP.
Holding her hand while the nurse removed the last tube from her umbilical cord.
She wasn't too excited about having the tube removed but was brave, knowing it reduces the risk of infection. (She's a smart girl.)
Big squeeze.
With the tube removed, she was ready to get wrapped back up.
Our little Ellie burrito.
She's on her tummy to help her with digestion as she's having a little bit of trouble, and being on her tummy helps.

Thank you for posting such precious pictures. It is such a reality check as to how precious each little life really is. My husband is fascinated and learning a lot about little babies.
I'm praying for your sweet baby!
