We're going to see Ellie for her 8:00 "hands on" time this morning. (Luckily it's always a little after 8:00 because I think Kit's stuck in traffic.) I'm starting to get so excited for these visits. Each day my heart grows closer and closer to our beautiful little girl.
I'm nervous about being discharged and being so far away from her, but she is in good hands (both those of the hospital staff and of God). All of this is so very new, but yesterday a wonderful gal named Kelly Stamps who has a large blog following (and whose little girl was recently born with complications and need to be in the NICU for a while) posted a link to our blog on her blog asking folks to pray for us. Yesterday I received a ton of comments on our blog from parents who have been in similar situations (and some who are currently in our situation). It's reassuring to have the support of others who have been in our place.
Now we just take things one day at a time.

I am praying for your little girl. My duaghter was born at 27 weeks and spent 13 weeks in the NICU. She is now a healthy almost 7 year old, with very little effects from her prematurity.
