Happy First Week Birthday, Elise!

Tonight at 9:07pm was Ellie's first week birthday. And guess where she was...kangaroo'ing with her mommy! I hummed her a nice little round of Happy Birthday to You. Can't believe my baby girl is already one week old.

Hi. I found your blog from Kellyskorner. Elise is such a sweet baby...sooo tiny! Just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you all. I love the videos. It really makes you guys "come alive"...you know? I'm a nurse and it never ceases to amaze me the miracle of modern medicine. Of course, we all know God is in control of this whole situation!!
I will be praying!

I also found your blog through Kelly. Just wanted to let you know that I'm praying for your precious little Ellie and for both of you as well during this trying time. We just lost our 2nd little boy, Andon, at 34 weeks. I developed HELLP syndrome my placenta completely pulled away before we were able to get to the hospital. We understand the importance of having people lift you up in prayer! I know it's the only way we've gotten through the past 6 weeks. God is so good, no matter what we go through in this life.

We will pray for you and your family. We know all too well what it is like to have premature babies.

My son Sam was born at 34 weeks and 6 days in November 2006. My little girl Emma was born at 26 weeks and 6 days in November of 2007. Sam spent 2 1/2 weeks in the NICU and Emma spent nearly 6 months in NICU. Both are doing great now. Sam is on track with all of his milestones(maybe a little behind in talking, but he is really picking up more lately)

Emma is a bit farther behind in some things but they feel that once she gets a little older, she will be on track as well.

Remember to get as much rest as you can. Elise will need you both to be strong and healthly. Take help when you can get it. Also take some time with each other as well, you can get drained pretty quickly from those long days in the NICU.

Also remember to rely fully on God. He is always by your side.

Take care,

Jodi
